In the summer, pools, seas and slides are a major threat if not watched out. In the winter, this danger continues in pools.

The topic to emphasize here is children of very young age diving headfirst into water and breaking their necks every summer, usually resulting in death or very severe, irreversible paralysis. We should definitely not jump into waters that we don’t know the depth of and this should be advised by every parent to their children. Even if we know the depth, we rather not dive headfirst. We shouldn’t slide down the waterslides where there is no attendant to watch the queue. When the person behind hits us rapidly, dorsal and lumbar spinal fractures are common and can result in irreversible paralysis. If this occurs despite all measure, it is vital to make the patient lay flat and make the neck and back immobile until paramedics arrive. Trying to make the patient sit or stand up can have fatal results.
